Benefits of Quark vs InDesign?

Apparently the current manager of Quark is an XML guy, so they've done a lot to improve their XML support. Adobe InDesign took the lead, but Quark has caught up. But both of those products require you to map into "their world". Latest versions of both of these products are that they are more "on par".

But there are still issues with both of these programs - they are not dealing with the original XML source so if you change something in either of these programs, it's not automatically reflected in the original XML file.
