Case Study: Large Academic Publisher

This is fascinating - using deeply-tagged XML, Eric was able to help a big publisher monetize all different kinds of content across different platforms: Higher Ed, Journal Publishing, Conferences, etc.

Content without context is fairly useless, but if you define the lowest-level building blocks like sidebars, figures, tables, rich media - chapters are the next level up (as well as topics, articles, papers), and then you build up from there to larger content.

God, his work sounds so fun. And the potential for e-commerce here is so huge. I think about the stuff we were trying to do at Muze and B&N 10 years ago.
